Call for Trainers

Introduction:

Palestine Polytechnic University is implementing the Youth for Environmental Sustainability Project through the Active Citizenry Activity Project.

The Project aims to transfer knowledge for environmental protection and combating climate change sound practices to the most vulnerable local communities in Hebron by the voice of the youth represented by PPU students. This will be accomplished through establishing the environmental clubs at PPU and carrying out awareness and advocacy initiatives designed and delivered by the students in the themes of circular economy and three R’s including water, sanitation, and hygiene - WASH, renewable energy, biodiversity, and smart technologies for the environment. The project contains three training programs for the participating students in the following aspects: 1) Life and professional skills including formal communication, public outreach, and public speaking. (2) Civic engagement, advocacy, and public awareness campaigning. (3) Content development for media and social media platforms. These programs will help students reinforce their understanding of environmental bylaws and regulations for combating climate change, environmental advocacy, and showcasing best and sound practices. Accordingly, PPU seeks the selection of one professional trainer who is qualified in life and professional skills training to conduct this training.

Assignment Objective:

 PPU seeks to select three highly qualified trainers to enhance the skills of 80 students through the implementation of three training programs:

1. Life and professional skills, including formal communication, public outreach, and public speaking
2. Civic engagement, advocacy, and public awareness campaigning.
3. Content development for media and social media platforms.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Develop action plans for the three training programs.
2. Design and submit effective training materials tailored to each program's focus areas.
3. Implement scheduled training hours for each program.
4. Deliver detailed training program agendas, materials, and presentations.
5. Ensure participants comprehend and apply the training content effectively

Training Program Methodology: Trainers should use interactive and engaging activities, including group exercises and case studies. Practical skill-building sessions should be incorporated to develop skills such as effective communication, time management, and critical thinking.

Deliverables:

1. Life Skills Training Program.

• A detailed Action for a 30-hour life and professional skills training including program, agenda, training material, and presentations.
• An end-of-mission report after completing the mentorship activities & and period, the trainer must deliver an end-of-mission report including a detailed description of the tasks above.
• Pre and post-training evaluation and attendance sheet.
• Documentation of participants' progress and achievements throughout the training program, such as participation records, performance assessments, and self-evaluations.
• Evaluation of the training program's effectiveness through participant feedback, post-training surveys, and assessment of learning outcomes.

2. Civic Engagement Training Program:

• A detailed Action for a 45-hour civic engagement and public awareness campaigning training including program, agenda, training material, and presentations.
• An end-of-mission report after completing the mentorship activities & and period, the trainer must deliver an end-of-mission report including a detailed description of the tasks above.
• Pre and post-training evaluation and attendance sheet
• Documentation of participants' progress and achievements throughout the training program, such as participation records, performance assessments, and self-evaluations.
• Evaluation of the training program's effectiveness through participant feedback, post-training surveys, and assessment of learning outcomes.

3. Content Development of Media and Social Media Platforms Training Program:

• A detailed Action for a 30-hour content development for media and social media platform training including program, agenda, training material, and presentations.
• Submit an end-of-mission report after completing the mentorship activities & and period, the trainer must deliver an end-of-mission report including a detailed description of the tasks above.
• Pre and post-training evaluation and attendance sheet.
• Documentation of participants' progress and achievements throughout the training program, such as participation records, performance assessments, and self-evaluations.
• Evaluation of the training program's effectiveness through participant feedback, post-training surveys, and assessment of learning outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:

• University degree in a relevant field.
• Three years of professional experience delivering relevant training programs.
• One year of proven experience in implementing related training programs.
• High level of tutoring, training, and instructing skills.
• Proficient in interactive and practical teaching methodologies.
• Strong writing and communication skills in both English and Arabic.
• Excellent ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Excellent ability to develop progress reports.
• Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).

Selection Criteria:

Selection will be based on the highest combined score from the following criteria:

• Technical Offer: 60 points
• Financial Offer: 40 points

Requirements:

• Submit a letter of interest.
• Submit a technical offer related to the chosen training program.
• Provide a detailed price offer including VAT for the training program.
• Sign and approve the donor regulations and clauses.
•  

Time Frame: From February 29 to May 30, 2024, with a total level of effort of 30 hours for the life skills training, 45 hours for the civic engagement training, and 30 hours for the content and media development training. The time frame can be modified as needed.
